DC Foundation for Creative Space undertook the renovation of 100,000 square feet within the historic Lansburgh's building, to create the Washington Humanities and Arts Center, a cultural center, housing thirty-six art groups, as well as serving the art community and public at large.
Hired, trained and supervised volunteer, administrative and professional staff (six persons), three of which worked as my program assistants. Conceptualized and directed the visual arts programs for the Center.
Researched, analyzed, conceived and managed programs to promote visual artists.
Researched, analyzed, conceived and managed programs to promote visual artists. Conceived, managed and supervised thirteen mini galleries, where more than 500 artists' works were displayed during a two year period. Critiqued and juried artists' slides and actual works. Supervised installations of exhibitionsas well as designed and installed numerous exhibitions and displays, for which I was solely responsible. Analyzed, planned and established the budget for the visual arts programs. Managed and supervised the sales of art works.
Was invited, and represented the Center and the local art scene on several television talk shows. Participated in panel discussions and seminars. Initiated and conducted tours and seminars at the Center, and arranged several fund raising activities at the Center.
